Marching Hawks Week of September 28 Schedule
The Marching Hawks, joined by eighth graders, play in the stands as the Hayfield Hawks football team hosts the Edison Eagles on September 25, 2026. Check out the gallery for more photos from the game.
This week includes the first concert band performance of the year on Tuesday at 7 PM, a home football game Friday night, and the second marching contest at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 3. A few volunteer slots are still available at the football game and the contest. Join other band family members supporting the band on SignUpGenius.
This Week’s Schedule
Monday, September 28 – Guard Sectionals ONLY
Tuesday, September 29 – NO REHEARSAL (Come see the Hayfield Bands Fall Concert, 7:00pm!)
Wednesday, September 30 – Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm
Thursday, October 1 – Rehearsal, 3:15-5:15pm
Friday, October 2 – Home Football vs. West Potomac HS
3:15-5:30 PM – At any time, Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion students can go to the Orchestra room to have their band portraits taken. Guard will do theirs in uniform on Saturday.
4:30 PM – Dinner, Change into uniforms
5:30 PM – Warm-Up in Lot
7:00 PM – Game Starts
8:15 PM (approx.) – Halftime performance of Dare to Dream
10:00 PM (approx.) – Game ends, return to band room, store all equipment and uniforms
10:30 PM (approx.) – Dismissal
USBands Regional Marching Contest, Saturday, October 3
This contest is at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium located at 550 Taylor Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401. Parking at the USBands Annapolis show on Saturday is PAID parking. If you are coming to spectate, or driving yourself as a volunteer, it is highly recommended that you pre-purchase parking online. Also, note that the stadium utilizes a clear bag policy.
8:00 AM - Students arrive at Hayfield Secondary, load truck, change into uniforms
10:00 AM - Load buses, depart Hayfield Secondary School
11:30 AM - Arrive, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
12:18 PM - Warm-Up Time
1:25 PM - PERFORMANCE TIME: Dare to Dream!
Following our performance, we will go back to the buses quickly to change, then head back into the stadium to watch the remaining performances.
2:25 PM - Exhibition performance from the Towson University Marching Band
2:40 PM - A-Class Awards Ceremony
5:00 PM - Move back to buses, depart Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
6:15 PM - Arrive at Hayfield, unload equipment, store uniforms, clean areas
6:45 PM - Dismissal
All students are expected to stay until dismissal to ensure all equipment and uniforms are properly stored.
What to Bring for the Contest
All uniform items: 2026 Marching Hawks T-Shirt, Drillmasters/Guard Shoes, LONG black socks, shorts to wear under uniform for a quick change after our performance, hair products for students with long hair
Breakfast to eat on the way to Annapolis
Refillable Water Bottles
Money for concessions at the event after our performance
